As mentioned at SDTMA, below is the pilot course GTA is offering in June.

This particular course offering will be free, as we are looking for feedback, so it is a great time to take it locally. This 16-hr course is primarily designed for sergeants.

Beyond the Incident: A Supervisor's Guide to Use of Force Review

Course Description:
Analyzing police use-of-force is a critical aspect of law enforcement and has evolved significantly in recent years, influenced by societal expectations, legal standards, and technological advancements. As the initial reviewers, supervisors are instrumental in upholding the integrity of policing practices, fostering public trust, and safeguarding their agencies from legal risks. This classroom based 16hr course is designed to provide supervisors with the knowledge and skills to conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of use-of-force incidents effectively in their role.

  *   Legal Considerations in Analyzing Use of Force Incidents
  *   Human Factors - The impact of physiological responses on decision-making in high-stress situations
  *   Video Considerations and Analysis
  *   Best Practices - Legal Standards in Use of Force Evaluations
