Hi Melody,

Your agency does NOT have a USE OF FORCE course.

If you recall, the USE OF FORCE course is for an instructor to obtain POST USE of FORCE certification from LONG BEACH so they can come back to their own agency and teach the Use of FORCE PSP  29580. NOT TO TEACH OTHER OFFICERS TO BE USE OF FORCE INSTRUCTORS.

Unless you plan on creating this course for your agency, you do not need a Use of Force instructor because your agency receives the training through SDPD.

However if you are creating this course for your agency, if would be a 4 hours lecture only.  If you do involve manipulative skills in the training, (ie firearms) then a safety plan would be required with the instructor ratio of 1 instructor to 5 students.  If you do involve firearms, then a firearms instructor would be required.

Please REPLY to this email YES or NO if your agency is interested in sending 1070 Instructors and how many you wish on sending.  I asked the presenter to provide his availability dates for Fall & Wintertime only.
