POST is looking for a couple of sworn officers for a new training video they are creating regarding Officer Safety.  See below for additional information and dates in August that they need “SMEs” (Subject Matter Experts) – they will be filming in Carlsbad.

I’m emailing you this inquiry at Rosanne’s suggestion. I am working on a video program along with Charday Alcarez. We (ok, she…) are basically reviving a portion of an online Officer Safety course, but adding new video with interactive learning. To this point, Charday had been working with a team of subject-matter experts who have put together some great curriculum for a new POST self-paced course on Officer Safety. In the course, we talk about mental readiness for critical incidents and tools for mitigating the physiological response to stressful calls.

We met last week (our first 3 day SME workshop) but don’t have sufficient officers available for interviews. We have some room in the course set aside for officer interviews and are looking for a couple of sworn officers who could lend us some time on-camera. They would be asked to describe one critical incident they were involved in, as well as how they handled the stress before, during, and after the incident. Including the real live experiences of current officers is one of the most important parts of this course.

Rosanne thought you may be aware of one or two in the San Diego area who could be a good match. Please let me know if anyone comes to mind.

The interviews would take place in Carlsbad at the Digital OutPost studio as follows (we can handle coordination, just looking for contacts):

Monday August 29, 1pm-5 pm: Course Overview and Video Interview Prep

Tuesday August 30, 9am-5pm: Individual interviews. The interviewee would be scheduled for a one-hour interview at some point on this date. They only need to be available for that hour, and can leave after their on-camera interview.
