Escondido PD will be hosting Beheler Update Training provided by the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office- Family Protection Unit.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Recently, appellate courts have reversed three of our serious San Diego County Child Abuse/ Child Molestation cases based on their view that detectives should have Mirandized the suspects during a Beheler Interview. The reversals/ cases
span all agencies, small to large, and it has been horrible letting these families know the molester/ abuse could walk out of jail at some point potentially based on these legal rulings.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The DA has put together update training on Beheler a generally widely used tool, especially for Child Abuse Detectives.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Training will be held at the Escondido Police Department, <b>
Tuesday, September 11<sup>th</sup> from 0830-0930 in the Community Room.</b> It is encouraged for Supervisors, Detectives and Officers to attend.
