Ok,
here is the TNA form.
Would appreciate any expeditious help you can on this.   Obviously with the Olympics coming up quickly in the LA area, I think a lot of teams are starting to really ramp up their training tract.  The discussion I had with Anaheim on this really raised their eyebrows and they seemed highly motivated to get it done.
Per the form, whats the best way for me or my partners to get in to a Training Managers Course?  Looks like we'll need that to eventually ensure class success.

Just touching base Dan,
I am almost done with the TNA.  Anaheim SWAT reached out and is highly interested in hosting the first course.  This would be held at Northnet training tower, as well as the stadium.  Obviously they are waiting on the final approval of the course before they commit though.  So I hope to have this back to you asap!

so both of those numbers return to Dana Virlander’s company VTC.  the TRAC course is a foundational tactical rope access course.  Introductory.  If you look at CATO offerings on TRAC it seems they only offer it 2x a year and always in CA.
There are no follow on courses and no courses that allow the end user to utilize vertical concepts while mission planning and actual execution in a high stakes environment; all things my course will provide.
Although any tactical ropes course will utilize principal concepts such as rappelling , raising, lowering, ascending…..
It’s the real world application that will set my course apart and make it different. The actual utilization of simunition, mission planning, and vertical execution of those elements.
I’m also not sure how up to date TRAC is these days.  It’s been around a long time and with all of Dana’s other offerings, just not sure the technological advances in rope rescue are as up to date as they could be.
I already have at least 2 local agencies asking for the course- mostly as a proof of concept to the TRAC course and as a follow on mechanism to increase their vertical operations.  In speaking with with Rick, taking the course nationwide is also high on our priority list.  So with TRAC from CATO- I dont know how if often, if ever, he’s exiting California and providing training nationwide.  My company is already hosting vertical rescue courses nationwide and I have a strong foundational following. This will allow agencies that typically can’t afford set aside training funds, an opportunity to use federal funding options and increase their operational success.

Got your info from Rick Munder.  We recently spent a week together as he was auditing my TMT course for POST.  I am trying to get a new course POST certified so this is my official contact to my local POST rep to make notification of doing so!  Now I can check the box on the TNA form.  ha

So I am a full time firefighter / paramedic and SWAT medic with the Oceanside Fire Department.  I also own Prevail Rescue Solutions LLC.  I specialize in lightweight rescue and casualty management.  I have brought in a partner for this new class.  His name is Keahi who owns Brass Half Full.  He is an ex cop / SWAT operator with Escondido Police.  We will be going through my LLC and not our home agencies on this course as our main objective is to take this course not only Statewide, but throughout the nation.

The new class we have developed fits a massive training gap.  It is called Applied Rope Rescue in Disruptive Environments (ARRDE).  It combines vertical movement from tactical teams, casualty management, MACTAC style approach to small unit tactics, TECC point of injury care, and organic problem solving in the vertical environment.   This 40 hour course will combine our two worlds of mission planning, vertical building assaults, CQB tactics, and medicine into a single course.  I have taken the initial step of surveying the San Diego SWAT commanders at their last monthly meetings, and have a signed form from all of them stating their support for such a course and that they would endorse it with a POST backing.   Some other signatures on that letter are also from BORTAC, FBI, Harbor SRT.   All of whom I have worked with in the past.  Additionally we have already completed a full Program of Instruction, a cost breakdown, an indepth safety plan, and a POST friendly course description.
