Fentanyl Safety and Awareness 4HRS

Course Description:  This course is designed to provide law enforcement officers and other first responders an overview of the characteristics and hazards of fentanyl and synthetic opioids as we teach current tactics, techniques and procedures to mitigate hazards to first responders when fentanyl or other harmful illicit substances are present at the scene. This course provides training on the proper use and wear of personal protective equipment, and the basic first aid measures to help prevent and mitigate incidental exposure to synthetic opioids.

January 23-27, 2023
PC832 Arrest Course  Training to be conducted at the Public Safety Training Center San Marcos, CA
Course Description:  This 40-hour course meets the POST requirements of PC 832 Arrest. Subject matter includes Criminal Law, Laws of Arrest, Search & Seizure, Use of Force, and Arrest and Control Techniques. Training includes classroom lecture and activities, as well as manipulative skills for Arrest and Control. Training will be eight (8) hours per day for five (5) days, and attendance is mandatory. (40 hours total)

Veteran Culture for First Responders
Course Description:  When responding to incidents involving Veterans and military personnel, public safety personnel will be able to appropriately identify Veteran and Military members, recognize signs and symptoms of Veterans with mental health issues, identify Veterans in crisis, use learned officer safety skills to help stabilize and secure the scene, employ de-escalation techniques when applicable and know of appropriate resources to further assist Veterans.

Testifying in the ERA of Social Justice Reform
Course Description:  This course offers meaningful training on how to answer the questions  government lawyers ask on direct and defense lawyers ask during cross-examination.  Officers will learn how to better prepare for giving testimony under oath and how to effectively handle attacks on credibility. Themes, theories, objections and exhibits and how they are used in the courtroom will be addressed.
This is a highly effective program, taught by a nationally recognized instructor and tailored to give officers essential
skills needed when they are called to testify.
