Dear SDTMA Members,

We recently sent notifications to you regarding board member elections and
a proposed bylaw amendment. We have also asked you to RSVP for the November
meeting, so we can conclude this year's business and enjoy a holiday social
hour (food and prizes). To date, only 8 members have RSVP'd for the
November in-person meeting.

Regarding the board member elections, the bylaws require that 50% of the
members be present (in-person or by proxy) to form a quorum for voting. If
this requirement is not met, the election of the next board members will be
invalid, which could result in the loss of our valuable training network. I
strongly urge you to either attend the meeting in person to vote, or return
your agency's ballot to the Secretary by the date indicated.

Regarding the proposed bylaw amendment, a 2/3 vote of the member agencies
is required to amend the bylaws. Please take the time to vote by returning
the ballot to the Secretary by the date indicated.

We are working with our host, Steve Woodland at SD-HIDTA, to create a Zoom
link to send out to members who wish to attend, but cannot do so in person.
We will send that out as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you
this Thursday (in-person or virtually).

In closing, many thanks to Board Secretary Heather Hutchinson and Treasurer
Marisa Messier for their hard work and dedication to handling the business
of the association. Heather has done a great job keeping us organized with
meeting minutes and voting while Marissa has been making sure our finances
are squared away and dues are up-to-date. Thank you both for your valuable
contributions.

Best regards,

Michael Garcia - President
