Butane Honey Oil (San Diego) March 23rd 

 

If you have not come across marijuana extraction yet, it's only a matter of
time with the recent legalization of marijuana in California. Marijuana
extraction methods will continue to increase. This class will cover:
Understanding the History of Butane Honey Oil. BHO Extraction Methods.
Closed Loop System.  BHO Lab Dangers. Investigative Techniques and Proper
Handling of BHO Materials and Paraphernalia. What to Look for in Patrol
Enforcement.

Haz-Mat, DEA Chemist, Bomb and Arson, MAST, NTF, DEA  and the District
Attorney's Office are also scheduled to Discuss Their part of BHO
Investigation's and Prosecution.  An extraction displays will be set up to
help the students recognize current extraction methods, paraphernalia and
officer safety concerns.

 

 

 

Rental Car Theft and Street Gang (Imperial County) April 6th 

 

A rapid increase in rental vehicle theft through the use of fraudulent
credit cards and stolen identities has reached crisis proportions within the
State of California.  Criminal Street Gang members and Drug Trafficking
Organizations utilize this rental car industry on a daily basis to advance
their criminal enterprise.  This course will encompass all aspects of rental
fraud cases, including rental industry standards, criminal street gang fraud
activity, investigation, interview and report writing and case management.
The instructor will include facilitated discussions, learning activities,
and real world case studies to provide students with an in-depth
understanding of investigating rental fraud scenarios involving complex
criminal enterprises. 

 

 

Interview and Interrogation (El Cajon) April 20th  (STC Certified)

 

This class will focus on developing and enhancing your skills to conduct
criminal interviews and interrogations. The following topics will be
discussed as well as hands on analysis of verbal and written suspect
statements. Obtaining a Valid Miranda Waiver, Verbal and Non Verbal
Indicators of Truth and Deception, Non-confrontational Interview and
Interrogation Methods, Behavior Provoking Questions, Baiting Questions,
Standard Interviewing an Interrogation Formulas, Setting-up and Preparing
for an Interview, and more.
