Good Afternoon SDTMA!
I just received the email below with a link to register for the Gang training. The flyer is not yet on LECC’s website (I just checked), so keep checking back. I wanted to get this out to anyone who was interested to pass on to your people because the link to register is live right now.

Subject: https://sd-lecc.org/GangTraining Registration Link for 25er Training at Southwestern college
Everyone,
Please distribute this link regarding FREE 25er Prison Gang (Security Threat Group-II) training to your department personnel. The capacity for this training is approximately 400 persons and limited to law enforcement and military personnel. Credentials will be required at check in and the training is free of charge.
The event is being hosted by Special Service Unit-San Diego and the Southwestern College Police at Southwestern College on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 0800-1400 hours in the Mayan Hall. This is being distributed in the interest of getting it to as many San Diego Law Enforcement entities as possible. A flyer will be available on the LECC website soon and will be distributed upon it’s completion.
Registration link has been created and is live: https://sd-lecc.org/GangTraining.
You can distribute it to whoever you need to. We are working on the flyer, which will also contain the link and the training will be publicly posted on our training website.
This training is intended to provide a baseline for the proposed training and intelligence sharing for local San Diego and Southern California Law Enforcement agencies. The purpose of the training is to provide Peace Officers with comprehensive training specific to the Two Five (2-5) Security Threat Group (STG-II) (Prison Gang). The training will consist of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations recognized experts and local experts providing four (4) hours of detailed information to the affected local, state and federal agencies, in a format that will be beneficial for each affected department’s STG criminal investigation(s), as well as their identification and validation process.
The proposed training will be useful in identifying inmates/parolees/probationers actively promoting and supporting STG activity within correctional institutions and the community, but also persons within the community who facilitate these activities and may potentially have access to correctional institutions/jails as visitors. As we have developed intelligence during operations, we have identified an uptick in violence being perpetrated by the members of Two Five (2-5) and the Mexican Mafia (EME), as well as their supporting local Criminal Street Gangs (STG II) that poses a threat to Peace Officer safety.
