Good Afternoon,

On November 10, 2015 the San Diego Sheriff's Department will be offering an 8-hour P.O.S.T. certified course entitled "Drug Influence: 11550 H&S Course" will be offered from 0700- 1600 hours at Miramar College. It is reimbursable under P.O.S.T. Plan IV.

The course is an overview of the technical issues in the detection, apprehension and prosecution of a person who is "under the influence of a controlled substance". Objectives include:   

1.   List objective symptoms of a person under the influence of narcotics, stimulants, depressants and hallucinogens as defined by experts. 
 	
2.  Describe the proper procedure in the collection and preservation of evidence established by the San Diego Sheriff's Crime Lab.
	
3.  Identify the street slang of controlled substances as defined by experts.

4.  Identify withdrawal symptoms of controlled substances as described by experts.
	
0.5 lower division semester units will be awarded upon completion of the course.  Tuition is $46.00 payable to Miramar College. Agencies/students may pay on the day of the class at the time of registration. Tuition for SDSD personnel will be paid by the Department.
