Good afternoon,

The Oceanside Police Department will be hosting the Cell Phone Investigations Course presented by Serrato & Associates on August 26th, 2015 from 0800-1700. Please see the attached flyer for further details.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This eight-hour course will examine the various methods of exploiting the valuable
data contained within cellular phones. Cell phones contain the user's call history,
contacts, text messages, emails, pictures, and videos. The use of service provider
records to assist investigations involving narcotics trafficking, homicide, sex
crimes, gang related crimes, identity theft, and other types of criminal activity will
also be examined. The information provided in this course will increase your
awareness and accessibility of the evidence and intelligence located in cell phones
and provide the tools to prepare search warrants to legally obtain the associated
evidence.
