There are still a few openings in the December 7-8, 2015, Crashzone class. This will be the last offering of the class. If you can only attend day one of the class, arrangements can be made to complete Day two of training with an independent study computer assignment.

REGISTRATION:  Course registration will begin promptly at 0700 on the first day of class



COURSE CONTENT:  This course is designed to furnish a student with basic skills in using computer diagramming programs to create accurate and professional looking scaled diagrams of traffic collision scenes. The student will learn how to draw lines, shapes, and objects, create scale bars, titles, and legend boxes, add text and dimensions, and how to import and export various files.  The student will also learn how to create, modify and place symbols in addition to creating separate layers within the diagrams and altering items



OBJECTIVES: The course goals of  Basic Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) Collision of Collision:
1.  To become familiar with computer aided diagramming programs.
2.  To develop basic technical expertise in the use of computer aided diagramming programs.
3.  To recognize, interpret, and prepare scale diagrams for further use and evaluation in the investigation,
     documentation and reconstruction of traffic collision scenes.


PREREQUISITE:  Basic Traffic Collision Investigation Course or equivalent work experience in completing traffic collision reports and diagrams.


CERTIFICATION: This course is certified under P.O.S.T. reimbursement Plan IV.  Class hours are mandated by P.O.S.T. and full participation is required for certification.  Completion certificates will be awarded.

TUITION/CREDIT:    0.2 lower division semester units will be awarded for completion of this course (AOJ 367). Tuition is $9.20 per student. Agencies/students can pay at time of registration on the first day of class or the agency may be billed. ***** SDSO student's tuition is covered by Sheriff's Training budget. ****** California non-residents will also be charged a tuition fee of $183 per unit. There may also be a $16.00 medical insurance fee. Students are expected to be honest and ethical at all times in their pursuit of academic goals. SUPPLIES:  Students will be provided computer equipment with diagramming software loaded for use during the class. If the
student wishes to use their own computer and software, they may do so. Software can be purchased from www.cadzone.com<http://www.cadzone.com>.


DRESS:  Casual clothing is appropriate. No shorts open toed sandals or shoes. No food or drink is allowed in the Computer Lab


PARKING:  Parking is located in the parking structure near the classroom at the southeast end of the COC complex on Farnham St., east of Overland Ave. Do not park in 2 hour visitor parking spaces or county vehicle marked spaces. You will be cited or towed by County  security.
