Hi Brian,

We had contact back in 2012 regarding a POST certified training that assists law enforcement identify and refer elderly drivers with medical impairments.

The course is still offered, however to better meet the need of local agencies, we now have a 20 minute version intended for shift change briefings.  The training focuses on the use of a brief screening tool to assess drivers for cognitive impairment, and when necessary, document the impairment on the DMV DS427.

It would be greatly appreciate if you could share this information at the next Training Managers Meeting you attend.  I have attached a flyer with specific details.  The training is funded by a grant from the CA OTS and there is no charge.
