The San Diego Law Enforcement Coordination Center (SD-LECC) in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security is sponsoring the "Principles of Intelligence Writing and Briefing Course (PIWB)"for analysts October 29-November 2 at the SD-LECC from 0800 - 1700.

Course Description:

PIWB provides students with writing and briefing techniques that include: a foundation in communication
principles, close reading, analytic writing, and effective briefing. Throughout the course, students apply learned
skills by preparing finished written products and briefings in homeland-security based practical exercises

* Prepare, present, and defend concise, clear analytic products in both oral and written formats.
* Employ critical reading techniques.
* Prepare written products using the DHS Intelligence Enterprise writing style.
* Use effective briefing skills to present intelligence products to decision makers.
