What: Cruel & illegal cockfighting & dogfighting activities are on the
rise across the U.S., including in both rural & urban areas in CA. They
can involve other criminal activities (conspiracy, gambling, narcotics
trafficking, & violence toward people). Felony laws are important tools,
but no law is better than its enforcement. 

Learn about: Present-day activities and the history of animal fighting,
levels of involvement and participant profiles, applicable state and
federal laws (including recent legislation), case law, investigative
techniques, search warrants, evidence collection, identification and
seizure of live animals as evidence, officer safety issues, avian
disease concerns, prosecution preparation, & available resources.

Who should attend: Sworn peace officers working patrol and detectives,
animal control and humane officers, code enforcement officers,
prosecutors, and government or agency-affiliated veterinary personnel.

Society of the U.S.
