Happy Holidays!

Last Thursday SDTMA met for our annual luncheon/meeting. Several important topics were discussed and I thought I would touch base with everyone on a few of the items.

As most of you are aware, Stephanie Scofield will be leaving us as our P.O.S.T. rep. for a promotion as Bureau Chief at P.O.S.T.  At the luncheon Stephanie introduced us to our new P.O.S.T. rep Greg Murphy. Greg has extensive experience as a region representative and comes with a wealth of knowledge. I hope you will join me in congratulating Stephanie and in extending a warm welcome to Greg. The change is effective January 1.

Board election results were verified by Stephanie Scofield, as per our bylaws, and announced at the luncheon. Jane Meadows and I will stay on in our current positions and we welcome Al Owens (Escondido PD) as Vice-President and Joni Galindo (Escondido PD) as Secretary. A huge thank you to Yolanda Felix for all the time and hard work she put in as Secretary the past few years. The organization is better because of her attention to detail and commitment to training.

Meetings - this is a reminder to schedule your calendar out for the 2012 meetings. Dates are: Jan. 19, March 15, May 17, July 19, Sept. 20, Nov. 15, Dec luncheon TBA. Meetings begin at 10 a.m.
January's meeting will be held at RCFL 9737 Aero Drive. Jeff McKinney (FBI) was able to secure the training room, brief presentation and tour of the training facility for our group.

The remainder of the 2012 meetings will be held at Sheriff's Headquarters 9621 Ridgehaven Ct., SD 92123.

Last but not least, I wanted to say thank you from the 2011 Board to Kirk Shea (CA State Parks) for maintaining our website. We ALL appreciate it!
