Quick question for the San Diego Training Coordinator's Group? Our
Bureau (CADOJ Bureau of Gambling Control) is looking into this trauma
gunshot wound first aid application "Quickclot" and was wondering if any
Southern California agencies are currently using it? If so, which kind?
Is it issued to all sworn personnel or just the officers in working in
the field? ...and lastly, what kind of training, length of training, and
where did they obtain it?

If any of you can shed any light on this topic and share back with our
bureau, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your assistance
with this matter!

Hey Pat,

Can you check with any SDPD or SDSD contacts you have as to whether they
use Quickclot?

Remember we are looking for:

(1) Do they use it: yes or no

(2) If yes, what kind.... (a) powder, (b) sponge or (c) gauze

(3) Do all patrol and detectives carry or only medic trained? grant and
for patrol

(4) How long was the training and where did they get it?

Thanks!

Sam
